Presentation/Discussion: Single Sign-On using Microsoft ADFS 2016
Active Directory Federated Services is a role of Windows Server 2008-2016 that simplifies authentication for end users. Instead of typing a username and password when accessing a web application, users login to ADFS and are securely redirected through the SAML protocol. Web applications vary but include common platforms like Google Apps, Office 365, Salesforce, Blackboard, and more. Discussion will cover ADFS terminology, initial setup, configuration for business applications, and monitoring techniques learned from SMCC’s rollout to students, faculty, and staff.
Presenter: Scott Fortin, Director of Network Security & Infrastructure | Southern Maine Community College
